Rhetorical theory offers machines for making arguments and for making arguments about arguments. Making Machines continues in this tradition by building conceptual and digital machines for both rhetorical production (making arguments) and rhetorical analysis (making arguments about arguments). The project includes both essays that build theories and digital objects that use a variety of media to think broadly about the available means of persuasion in digital envrionments.
